A flightless cormorant drying its damp wings on a rocky shoreline on Fernandina Island, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. The animals are very tame and so it allowed a reasonably close approach, allowing me to use a 20mm lens, and so capturing it in its environment. The photo was taken just after dawn, whn the sun peered through the clouds for the first time over Isabela Island. The species is listed as vulnerable on IUCN.
